Brian M. Jones formerly served as president of the Forest City West Commercial Group. Jones oversees the Company's new development opportunities and all aspects of the commercial real estate development process in California and the West Coast. He is supervising the development of several large-scale projects, including the 835 Market Street development in San Francisco, one of the largest urban mixed-use projects in Forest City's portfolio. He is also leading the development of Victoria Gardens, a major new suburban town center in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Jones has been in the commercial real estate industry since the early 1970s. He has been in his current position since 1987, when he established Forest City's commercial development operation for the Western region.
His Forest City career includes President & CEO, West Coast Commercial; Vice President, Development; and Project Developer. His most recent projects include Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, a 1.3 million-square-foot lifestyle center in the Inland Empire. San Francisco Centre, a 1.5-million-square-foot retail/office project in downtown San Francisco. A joint venture with Westfield America, San Francisco Centre is the largest enclosed shopping center west of the Mississippi. The Orchard Town Center, a 1.1 million-square foot mixed-use and lifestyle retail center in Westminster, Colorado.
He joined Forest City in 1978 as vice president and project developer for Charleston Town Center, a major, urban, mixed-use project located in Charleston, West Virginia. He was subsequently responsible for the following regional shopping centers: Galleria at South Bay - Redondo Beach, Antelope Valley Mall, The Mall at Victor Valley; Promenade at Temecula, Simi Valley Town Center, Galleria at Sunset in Henderson, Nevada and the Northfield Town Center in Colorado.
Jones has been in the commercial real estate industry since the early 1970s. He has been at the helm of Forest City California since 1987, when he established Forest City’s commercial development operation for the western region. Before joining Forest City, Jones worked in a variety of real estate development and construction management positions at Bovis Ltd. in the United Kingdom, his place of birth; VanBots Construction; Canadian Interurban Properties and the provincial government of Ontario, Canada.
Jones is a 1962 graduate of Willesden Technical College in England. He is active on the executive board of the Lusk Center for Real Estate at the University of Southern California. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, an Urban Land Institute Council member and he holds a seat on Southland Industries Board of Advisors.
