The projects run the gamut from adaptive reuse buildings to ground-up towers. All would feature high-end condominiums, suggesting that some developers are optimistic that Downtown will remain ripe for market-rate housing. "There was a slowdown last summer where buyers were sharply reduced and that was when developers revisited their plans for new developments and some projects were being tabled," said Dolores Conway, director of the Casden Forecast at the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. Now, she said, "Things are picking up again."
