Biography

As Managing Director, David Germakian leads EDENS’ Mid-Atlantic Region, where he oversees a portfolio of 24 retail real estate properties totaling 3.3 million square feet and is responsible for creating and executing EDENS’ strategic plan through development, redevelopment and acquisitions. 

David joined EDENS in 2007 as a Development Associate, exposing him to multiple facets of the business throughout his tenure with the company. He has played a critical role in directing processes for entitlement, design, leasing and construction of more than $500 million in development and redevelopment activity, including major transformational projects across markets with high barriers to entry: Closter Plaza and Princeton Shopping Center (NJ), South Bay (MA), Uptown Park (TX), Pinecrest Plaza (VA), and Cabin John Village and Burtonsville Crossing (MD). 

Prior to joining EDENS, David spent four years as an officer in the US Navy. During this time, he served as First Lieutenant on the USS PREBLE (DDG-88), a guided missile destroyer out of San Diego, and completed two deployments to the Persian Gulf. He holds an MS in Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a BA in Biology from Harvard University, where he is a founding member of the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board. David also serves on the Board of Directors for the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District as well as the Washington DC Economic Partnership and is a member of ULI. February
