
Meredith Sharkey is currently an Affordable Housing Assistant Project Manager at the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA). She works in the Housing Investment and Finance Division on affordable housing loan closings and project management through permanent conversion. With experience in sustainability, policy, and community development, Meredith’s interests led her to pursue affordable housing development.
Prior to working at LACDA, Meredith worked as a Management Analyst at the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) / San Gabriel Valley Regional Housing Trust (SGVRHT) on both affordable and interim housing projects. Additionally, she worked on projects that provided services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Meredith is originally from Indiana and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University. Her academic background is in policy, environmental management, and nonprofit management. She has always felt a calling to public service and dedicates her professional life to projects that improve communities. Meredith credits her mentor, Brielle Salazar (Ross Program Winter 2015 cohort), with inspiring her to participate in this program and to pursue a career in affordable housing.
