Professor GARY PAINTER (University of Southern California Education Researcher): Parents do it for--sort of because they believe that they can give their kids a better education. Some parents do it because they want to impart their values in their kids and they think that that won't occur in either the public or a private school setting. Being a family for such a short amount of time when kids are young is certainly a motivation for families.
