Those staying in the for-sale game are increasingly taking a creative turn.
"If the building is already built, developers have got to find ways to offload things because they don't want to be in the business of holding on to properties," said Raphael Bostic, a professor at the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. "Some say Downtown is the only market not showing weakness, but I don't think that's true. Selling these properties will depend on the amenity mix and location. As a general trend, it's where we're going. It's very much a buyer's market and it's the first time we've been in that environment instead of the recent market frenzy."
