New Report Forecasts Rent Increases Through 2020
Average rents are expected to increase $91 in Los Angeles County by 2020, according to the University of Southern California (USC) Casden Economics Forecast released today by the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, in partnership with Beacon Economics. The report estimates average rents will increase to $2,358, up from $2,267 this year, while the vacancy rate of rental units will increase from 3.95% to 4.31%.
Grocery Store Opens In Bixby Knolls
Smart & Final Extra!, an upscale spin on the Smart & Final warehouse stores, opened today at 4480 Atlantic Ave. in Bixby Knolls. The concept features an expanded selection of products for businesses and households, including organic and natural groceries, to-go containers, janitorial supplies and food service items. The 30,000-square-foot store at the former site of Orchard Supply Hardware is the company’s 200th Extra! location.
Port Seeks Community Input On Master Plan Update
The Port of Long Beach is hosting a “Let’s Talk Port” workshop on Wednesday, October 24, focusing on proposed goals and recommendations for the port’s master plan update. Local Non-Profit Health Plan Receives High Medicare Rating
SCAN Health Plan received a 4.5 (out of five) star rating for 2019 from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Long Beach-based nonprofit announced today. The rating “serves as an indicator of the value and quality of SCAN’s Medicare Advantage plans,” according to the announcement. The CMS system examines clinical outcomes, access to preventative services and management of chronic conditions. This is the second year SCAN has received a 4.5-star rating. Additionally, SCAN received a 90% member satisfaction rating.
Canceled Community Meeting
Third District Councilmember Suzie Price’s community meeting regarding November 6 ballot measures scheduled for this Saturday, October 20, has been canceled. The meeting was to be held at 10 a.m. at Little Recreation Park, 4900 E. 7th St.
