Mark Foster serves as executive vice president and general counsel of American Healthcare REIT, responsible for all legal affairs of the company. Mark has over 20 years of experience as a corporate and transactional attorney representing both public and private real estate companies in various phases of development and growth.
Prior to joining American Healthcare REIT, Mark was a partner at the law firm of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P. where he focused on complex real estate and corporate transactions related to the acquisition, financing, leasing, operation and disposition of commercial real property assets. Before Snell & Wilmer, Foster served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Sabal Financial Group, L.P., a subsidiary of Oaktree Capital Management, where he was responsible for all legal matters related to the company’s management of over $6 billion in real estate and debt assets. Prior to Sabal, he served as Senior Counsel for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, where he focused on all aspects of commercial real estate acquisition, development and operations, and as Regional General Counsel for Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL), where he oversaw the acquisition and development of dozens of residential projects throughout California. Mr. Foster began his legal career in the real estate group at the law firm of Allen Matkins LLP.
Mr. Foster received a B.A. degree in International Relations, Political Science and Economics from the University of Southern California, and a J.D. degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
