Loïc Chiquier

Loïc Chiquier is the Senior Advisor of the World Bank Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice. He holds the primary responsibility for global engagement on a range of high-priority financial sector issues such as long-term finance, housing finance, capital markets development, disaster risk management, green finance and financial inclusion. As a senior advisor, he also works on corporate management. Loic is also leading several country Financial Sector Assessment Programs.

Previously, he served as the Director for the World Bank as the Director for Financial and Private Sector Development in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) and Global Director for Capital Market Development. Loic has considerable experience in the development of securities markets, institutional investors, affordable housing, innovative insurance, banking and non-banking sector reforms, and finance to small and medium size enterprises. Loic also led many advisory and knowledge initiatives, as well as transaction projects in the areas of housing finance, urban development, and infrastructure finance. 

Loic has worked in more than 40 emerging economies. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, he served as Director for Crédit Foncier in Central Europe and Advisor for Housing Finance Reforms to the Government of Poland.  Loic holds degrees from École Polytechnique, École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris.
