Although Tucson may not again see the wild appreciation of the first six months of this year, MLS statistics indicate the market is healthy, said Delores Conway, director of the Casden Real Estate Economics Forecast at the University of Southern California's Lusk Center for Real Estate. The slowed appreciation of the last few months appears to be partially seasonal, Conway said. "I would say the month-to-month fluctuations aren't as significant as the year over year. We're not seeing big declines here," Conway said. "You've had very nice price appreciation, with the number of sales as high as it was last year." Eventually, prices may actually drop, Conway said.
