Inaugural SPPD Alumni Guardian Awards Dinner

SPPD will host the Alumni Guardian Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 24. The event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. The honorees are Sheriff Leroy D. Baca (MPA '73, Doctor of Public Administration '93), John Bedrosian (LLB '59), and the Honorable Joyce L. Kennard (BA '71, MPA/JD '74). Join SPPD alumni and friends for what is sure to be a memorable evening. All proceeds from the event support the SPPD Annual Fund. Please see the website for more information.

Bond Initiative Post-mortem: Where to from here?

Please join Senator Alan Lowenthal (D) Long Beach, Wally Baker of LAEDC, Jeff Kightlinger of the Metropolitan Water District, and Mark Pisano of SCAG for breakfast as they discuss the results of the November 7, 2006 infrastructure bond initiative. Over $42 Billion - the largest amount in state history - in General Obligation Bonds to fund transportation, flood protection, school construction, housing, and water supply protection will be subject to voter approval.

Regardless of the outcome of these initiatives, state and local governments and business interests will be affected.

USC Keston Institute for Public Finance and Infrastructure Policy is pleased to sponsor a discussion of the forthcoming report by the Public Policy Institute of California: Envisioning Futures for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Ellen Hanak, Research Fellow, Public Policy Institute of California will lead the discussion.

The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is a resource to all Californians for water supply, agriculture, transportation, and recreation.
