SPPD will host the Alumni Guardian Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 24. The event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. The honorees are Sheriff Leroy D. Baca (MPA '73, Doctor of Public Administration '93), John Bedrosian (LLB '59), and the Honorable Joyce L. Kennard (BA '71, MPA/JD '74). Please join Senator Alan Lowenthal (D) Long Beach, Wally Baker of LAEDC, Jeff Kightlinger of the Metropolitan Water District, and Mark Pisano of SCAG for breakfast as they discuss the results of the November 7, 2006 infrastructure bond initiative. Over $42 Billion - the largest amount in state history - in General Obligation Bonds to fund transportation, flood protection, school construction, housing, and water supply protection will be subject to voter approval.
Regardless of the outcome of these initiatives, state and local governments and business interests will be affected.
