What is the Value of Historic Preservation: Protect or Replace?

When?

January 11, 2007

RICS, LA Architect Magazine, USC Architectural Guild, APT and the USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development’s Master of Real Estate Development program present a panel discussion exploring whether development and historic preservation are inherently in conflict. Particular focus will be given to the opportunities that might exist for a profitable preservation development, what tools are available to make such projects more profitable and when bulldozing might be the only answer.

Panelists:
Christy Johnson McAvoy, Principal, Historic Resources Group
Dan Rosenfeld, Principal and Co-founder, Urban Partners
J. Gordon Turnbull, Principal, Page & Turnbull
Steve Williams, 2005 - 2006 President of the RICS
