...The timing of any Fannie and Freddie overhaul poses a major question. Richard Green, director of the Lusk Center for Real Estate at the University of Southern California, remains optimistic that Congress and the Obama administration will take action in 2010. The issue has been under study by multiple stakeholder groups for more than a year, yielding numerous proposals (including one from Green himself), he noted. However, he also expressed concern that a final decision will be stalled by politics.
