William has now been in the banking industry for over 6 years, all with HomeStreet Bank. He’s gone from a Loan Officer Assistant in Single Family Lending to now a Residential Construction Underwriter. He used his certificate at the Ross Program to acquire a position in Commercial Real Estate as a Credit Analyst immediately after graduation from the program. His next 5 years in Commercial Credit have allowed him to work with HomeStreet Bank’s over $1 billion Fannie Mae/DUS , Portfolio/ Wholesale Perm, Construction/Bridge programs as well as developing custom underwritten guidance facilities for individual developers in the Residential Construction space.
His most recent position as an Underwriter has given him a more borrower specific role with the developers of HomeStreet Bank’s portfolio of Residential Construction where he utilizes their financial metrics to create borrower specific strategies to increase net profit margins and minimize project insufficiencies for the borrowers he works with on the West Coast of the United States. Another aspect of his position is financial tracking of each of his over $35 million personal portfolio of developers via financial covenants created and customized for each borrower and tracked on a quarterly basis. His knowledge of covenant creation, financial analysis, debt consolidation, balance sheet, operating statement, and rent roll tracking has given him the ability to take a global analysis of any potential borrower of HomeStreet Bank and aid them in developing a perennially profitable business that benefits the borrowing entity as well as HomeStreet Bank.
William also serves on HomeStreet’s Leadership & Development group on the Culture Committee where he was appointed by the CEO to serve as a representative of the Commercial Lending group of the bank to develop pathways for more inclusion of minority and underserved communities to be involved in the banking sector.
