Jon Monkarsh is the Chief Operating Officer of Los Angeles-based EJM Development Co. Jon is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, which specializes in acquisition, building and management of apartments and industrial properties throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and New Mexico.
Jon also heads the lending division, New Frontier Capital. New Frontier Capital lends to real estate owners, developers and entrepreneurs. The company acts as a debt and equity partner providing bridge, construction, mezzanine, and joint venture financing. The efficient and expeditious financing programs enable borrowers to create and capitalize on real estate opportunities.
Jon represents the third generation of leadership in this family-owned business that boasts more than 40 years of experience and service to the Western real estate community.
Jon is the Chairman of the Jewish Federation’s Los Angeles Real Estate Principal’s Organization (RPO), a select group of leaders who annually disperse, through directed giving, more than $300,000 to repair and enhance communal infrastructure. Jon is an active member of the UJF’s Real Estate and Construction Cabinet and is currently a member of The American Jewish University’s Board of Directors. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at Brentwood School for the past 9 years.
Jon is a graduate of Beverly Hills High School and the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Communications.
Jon resides in Brentwood with his wife Heidi and their two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman.
