According to Lusk Director of Research Gary Painter's "Immigrants and the Spatial Mismatch Hypothesis: Employment Outcomes Among Immigrant Young in Los Angeles," those in the 16- to 21-year-old age range born in and around Los Angeles are less likely to leave their families and neighborhoods for jobs that have moved out of the area.
