Biography
Domenica K. Megerdichian is the Economic Development Manager at the City of San Gabriel, CA, where she focuses on business service, attraction and retention to stabilize and grow the local economy. Domenica prescribes to the notion that everything relates to and impacts Economic Development efforts, and as such, has a holistic approach to the profession predicated on team efforts at City Hall, relationships with partner and regional agencies and leveraging their respective resources, and approaching efforts with a Citywide marketing lens.
Prior to joining San Gabriel, Domenica spent eight and a half years at the City of Torrance City Manager’s Office, getting her start through the Management Assistant program while in graduate school, and growing into the positions of Staff Assistant and Management Associate. In her most recent role she oversaw land management, focused on economic development efforts through business attraction, retention, and growth. In addition, she was the liaison to the City’s Social Services Commission and Homeless Task Force. Domenica is experienced in grant writing, contract negotiations and management, community outreach and engagement, special projects and organization of various City-wide events. Domenica has previously worked for the City of Glendale as an assistant in the City Clerk’s Office and the City of West Hollywood as a graduate intern for the City Manager and City Council offices.
Domenica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Media Studies and Social Anthropology, a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Public Sector Leadership and Management from California State University, Northridge, and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a focus on Community and Economic Development from Cal Poly University, Pomona. Domenica completed the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate in Winter 2017.
