Tim Gerlach is the founder of StoneHarbor Capital, a commercial real estate capital markets firm based in Los Angeles. He is responsible for leading the Debt and Structured Finance originations activities across all asset classes. Tim is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career in the real estate group at Ernst & Young. Prior to founding StoneHarbor, Tim worked with the top finance team nationally at IPA Capital (Marcus & Millichap). Through his network of deep lender relationships, Tim has placed over $1.7 billion of financings with an array of capital market sources, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life insurance companies, debt funds, securitized and private lenders, credit unions, and banks.
Tim is a Los Angeles native and graduated Cum Laude from USC's Leventhal School of Accounting. When not spending time with his wife and family, Tim enjoys beach volleyball, paddle tennis, surfing, and snow sports, as well as volunteering with the Union Rescue Mission and Harvest Home.
