Mark L. Esses is the founder and President of California Realty Group. He has over 30 years of experience and began his real estate career in 1985 with one of California’s largest retail development companies. By 1987, as Director of Real Estate, he was personally involved in the acquisition, development, leasing and sales of over 250 shopping centers with a value of $500 million. Mark Esses supervised over $700 million of leasing transactions, as well as over 200 property acquisitions. In 1987, he was one of four key executives who created and developed Centers Business Management (CBM) which became one of the largest property management firms in California, with over 600 properties under management and a value in excess of $1.2 billion.
Mark founded California Realty Group as a boutique real estate firm specializing in the sales, leasing, advisory services, real estate development and property management.
California Realty Group develops shopping centers and built-to-suit properties for its clients as well as its own portfolio.
California Realty Group represents and advises portfolio owners and asset managers at all levels; financial institutions, insurance companies, pension funds, real estate investment trusts, sophisticated individual investors, and retailers in the acquisition and disposition of assets.
Professional affiliations have included International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and California Association of Realtors (CAR).
Mark Esses has also been an expert witness in the commercial real estate field for both Federal and State Courts of the United States.
Mark has been involved with philanthropic causes throughout his professional career, including USC Norris Cancer Center, P.S. Arts, Habitat for Humanity, Los Angeles Jewish Home, The Guardians and Los Angeles ORT Technical School.
He received his B.S. degree in Real Estate Finance and Investment Analysis from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in 1983.
