Aroon Chinai, Principal and Chief Investment Officer, oversees property investment and structuring joint venture relationships to invest and develop multi-family, office, retail, industrial, and hotel assets. In addition, Holualoa primarily invests in the western United States and France. Mr. Chinai is involved in corporate direction and strategic planning.
Holualoa was founded in 1985 in Kona, Hawaii. Since Mr. Chinai joined Holualoa, the company has acquired more than 150 properties. Mr. Chinai has become involved in forming relationships to access high net worth investors, family office and institutional capital.
Mr. Chinai joined Holualoa Companies in 1993. Previously, Mr. Chinai was a project manager of Ford Motor Company, managing the development of industrial facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Spain, and Portugal. Mr. Chinai holds a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Rochester and an MS degree in Real Estate Development from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Mr. Chinai also completed the Harvard University “Running a Real Estate Company” program. Mr. Chinai is a member of Urban Land Institute and MIT’s Real Estate Club and is involved in various international charities dedicated to children’s education.
